Using Data to Hire and Seek New Opportunities

People use data every day to hire new staff, and on the flip side, to apply to jobs. What do I mean exactly? There is a large pool of resumes on all the job board websites, along with a long list of companies looking for new hires. Employers search these websites with keywords to find the perfect match. Job seekers should analyze their resumes to understand if they have those keywords that a potential employer would be searching for.

Whether you are in the market for a new career, or you work for a company looking for new employees, it is important that you follow these tips:
·      Job seekers: be sure to optimize your resumes to maximize your potential of landing an interview for jobs in your field.
o   Start researching positions in your field and look at the keywords that each of those job descriptions have in common
·      Employers: be sure to optimize your job description to ensure that you are receiving the most qualified candidates applying for the advertised position.

o   Research the competition, and seek out the keywords that they are using in their job descriptions. Be sure that you are using relevant keywords that job seekers would be searching for.
