Using Data for Business Conferences

Businesses conferences collect an enormous amount of data from the moment you open registration to post event. What do I mean exactly? With most businesses conferences, people have to register online if they plan on attending the event. Usually the registration form will collect the attendees’ contact information as well as the lectures they are interested in attending at the conference. This is great information for an event manager to plan ahead, and account for an estimated number of people attending the overall conference, as well as each lecture. It is important that there is enough seating for all attendees.

After completion of the event, you can now send out a survey to your attendees to get feedback on the event (since you have already collected their email addresses). This data will help you to improve for an even better conference in the future. You may get speaker suggestions for next year, or maybe new topics. Maybe there was one thing that completely needs to be removed from the agenda or revamped? You may never find out if you don’t ask your attendees. You have to realize how important data is, and the power it has to help you improve your business!

  1. Nice article. I remembered one time that i have attended a google event at Sacred Heart University, and they did the same process as you mentioned above.
