The Basics of Google Analytics

ABOUT GOOGLE ANALYTICS

Google Analytics provides data for your digital marketing in one place. With Google Analytics, you can understand how your website is performing, where the traffic is coming from (referral, social media…etc.), the audience, the journey a customer takes through your company’s website, and much more.

ANALYZING YOUR AUDIENCE
With Google Analytics, you can analyze the audience coming to your website by:

·      Interests: Affinity, In-Market
·      Geography: Language, Location
·      Behavior: New vs. Returning, Engagement, Session Quality
·      Technology: Browser and Operating System, Network
·      Mobile: Type of Device (Apple iphone, Apple ipad, Samsung Galaxy...Etc.)

ANALYZING WEBSITE BEHAVIOR
Google Analytics has the capability of analyzing the website behavior in the following areas:

·      Site content: the number of page views, unique page views, average time on page, entrances, bounce rate, exits, and page value
·      Site speed: average page load time, average redirect time,  average domain lookup time, average server connection time, average server response time, average page download  time
·      Site search: sessions with search, total unique searches, results pageviews per search, search refinements, average search depth, total unique searches, search exits, and time after search
